Back To Basics For The Un-Employed

We are all aware of the issue regarding un-employment,
especially the focus  on the youths. So what are doing to get
the 16+ into work? Apprenticeships are such an invaluable tool to
give these people the experiences and knowledge to progress within
their career and help them build their foundations. How many
people leave school or college still classed as
‘un-employable’?  This is one of the reasons I wrote my book:
How to get on the employment ladder. It takes us back to basics and
teaches the un-employed the grass roots of gaining employment. It
is through my own experiences that I have found too many people are
leaving college or school without the skills to progress. Without
the skills to stand out from everybody else when going for an
interview. As I have stated previouisly, and I will continue to, it
is not all about the CV and Interview. Yes, these are vital to
gaining work, but what we are missing out from all of this
information is the ‘bit in the middle’. Building confidence and
self-esteem through communication skills is also a vital tool to
gaining employment. It is then that these skills are transferred
into the interview room. Time and time again, I do one to one
interviews with learners to be told that the have no confidence to
go for certain jobs. Maybe for fear of rejection. But building up a
learners confidence will ultimately build their foundations for
personal growth.

About Tracey Morewood

I am currently an Employability Tutor and Contract Manager who's main aim is to help those out of work find the confidence and self-esteem to get back into work. I have been working within Offender Learning for almost 6 years but moved to experience different opportunities. Oh and those opportunities gave me the confidence to write and publish my own book. The name of this book is: How to get on the Employment Ladder; You have the skills now learn to develop them. I have helped many people gain employment, and for a lot of them this was something they never thought possible for one reason or another. Anything is possible if we believe in ourselves. My passion has always been about the learner and helping them progress and reach their full potential. Alongside working full time and creating my first book I am also a single mum of two teenage boys. So if there is anyone out there that says they 'can't' I will be saying 'you can'.
